Cabin Fever Challenge Training Day

The Cabin Fever Challenge will be hosted by Chuck Cannon at the SSA on Saturday September 23rd on the 100 yard range.

There will be two sessions – morning and afternoon.

Registration is open to members AND non – members.  Register Online Now – by purchasing a free ticket below.

A cash donation for the SSA Range fund on the day of the event would be greatly appreciated.  We Suggest $10 for registered participating shooters, $5 for observers/auditors.

SSA Cabin Fever Challenge Training Day September 23rd, 2023

Location: SSA Highpower Rifle Range (at the 50 m Bullet Catch)

Time of day:

Morning Session 0900-1200 hrs

Afternoon Session 1300- 1600 hrs

 

Purpose: Introduce prospective rifle shooters to “Cabin Fever Challenge” a modern day International Postal Shooting Competition.

Equipment: Participants will require clothing appropriate for weather conditions and shooting in the four required positions (standing, kneeling, prone, sitting)

PPE; to include Hearing and eye protection

Rifle: A CFC division 6 compliant Rifle chambered for 22 long Rifle and a minimum of 100 rounds of ammunition.

 

Conduct of Training:

2 X 3 hour sessions (1 morning session and 1 afternoon session)

 

Conduct of a Session:

1- Demonstration of the requirements for participating in CFC competition (using Div 6 as the training model)

Includes discussions on Safety, and Rules of the competition.

 

2- Live Training at 50 m

-Zeroing in the prone position. Max 20 shots in 5 shot groups.

Trg pt 2- Standing Position, firing5 shot groups to establish technique, max 20 shots

Trg pt 3 – Kneeling Position,

firing 5 shot groups to establish technique, max 20 shots

Trg pt 4 – Sitting Position,

firing5 shot groups to establish technique, max 20 shots

Trg pt 5 – CFC Div 6 practice shoot

Each participant shoots a complete CFC div 6 sequence, timed. To establish a base line score for their own records and begin their journey to CFC2024 entry.

Trg pt 6 – The video. Things to do, things not to do. Video files/submissions.
