YOUTH ACTIVITIES PROGRAM

It was a beautiful day at Mountain Lake at Meaford's L.F.C.A. Training Centre. twenty six youths and sixteen adult S.S.A. members joined with the host club, Meaford's Rod and Gun Club, for a day of fishing. we boated out to catch the "Big One", in boats donated and Captained by club members. At this catch and release derby, the biggest Pickerel (25 inches) was caught by a youth member from the host club, while the biggest Small Mouth Bass (19 inches) was caught by one of the S.S.A. junior members. A barbeque of burgers, hotdogs and sausage was enjoyed by all after a morning of fishing. Refreshments, food and prizes for games, were supplied by both clubs. All members went home, tired and with great memories.

Thank You to the Meaford Club for the invitation. Thank You to club members for boats and their assistance in this great day. Thank You to the Salmon Spectacular Committee for donating food and prizes.

Also this summer, a small group of parents and youth members, built Robin's Roosts for day campers at Harrison Park.

Looking ahead, we will be having a "Trap Shoot", hosted by Bill Beamish and his committee. 410 and 20 gauge shotguns will be supplied, Sunday October 22nd, at the club trap range. Please call and register with Tim and Cheryl Henrich, 376 5865, before October 10th.
