Trevor Aljoe, a Quaker Boy Game Calls Pro Staff
member, will be our guest speaker. Trevor is very knowledgeable in the
field of turkey hunting and should be able to give us a lot of very good
and useful information about turkey calling and hunting. If you are interested
in turkey hunting this spring, don t miss Trevor s presentation.

Annual Awards Night
This year s Annual Awards Banquet will be held
at the Club House, Saturday March 25th. Happy Hour is from 6:00 PM to 7:00
PM with dinner starting at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $25.00 per couple and $12.50
single.
The buffet supper will be catered by Ruth Cunningham.

Social Activities
SALMON SPECTACULAR
Ken Smith has sent in the following description
of the duties for members working in the Information and Merchandise booth
at the Derby:
Information and merchandise booth volunteers must
be able to answer the telephone, take visa info for payments of derby tickets,
sell derby and boat draw tickets, operate the cash register, make change,
sell derby hats, shirts, Nevada tickets and be pleasant to the public.
Schedules will be available for 2000 derby at
our March meeting for you to fill in the shifts you want to work.

Membership Report
As of February 17, these are the following membership
totals: Adults: 164, Senior Citizens: 71, Spousal members: 58 and Juniors:
41 for a total of 364.
If you have neglected to pay your membership dues,
this will be your last newsletter. Please send in the renewal form
located elsewhere in this newsletter along with your cheque.
Gate Lock and Key Change
The locks on all property gates including the
Hand gun range will be changed on April 1, 2000. New keys will be
available at the general meeting in March as well as at the Awards Banquet
on March 25. As a service to those who are unable to attend club
meetings we have set two other dates where you will be able to come to
the clubhouse and exchange your old key for a new one provided your 2000
membership dues are paid. The two exchange dates are Friday, March
31 from 7 until 10:00pm and Saturday, April 1 from 10:00am until 1:00pm.
If you can' t find your old key but wish a new one, the cost is $2.00.

Advance Notice for Workers
At the March meeting, we plan to have a brief
description of jobs to be done at each booth along with the schedule.
Those in attendance will get first choice of their favourite jobs at the
optimal times. Please plan to attend and sign up. Remember,
the reason that we can accomplish so many conservation projects and make
major purchases for the hatchery, like the egg picker, is because of the
funds raised through the Spectacular and the Boat Draw. WE NEED THE
HELP OF EVERY MEMBER TO MAKE THIS A SUCCESS AGAIN THIS YEAR!

Tickets
In the year 2000, the S S A decided to order 100
books of Conservation Lottery tickets. If we sell all of these tickets,
the club will generate $600 for our conservation projects. These
tickets are an easy sell. 1st prize is a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Ltd, a Low Roughneck 176 boat and trailer with a Johnson 115hp Outboard
Motor valued at $93,137. The 2nd prize is a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Sport, 6x6 Vanguard ll Argo with North Trail trailer. The total prize
package is worth over $249,000. Presently, we aren't aware of any
tickets being mailed out. If you are interested in selling one book
or more, please see me, (John Ford) at the meeting or call me at 372-0410.

ARCHERY COMMITTEE
There is a limited supply of year 2000 shoot schedules.
These will be available to paid up members on a first come, first served
basis. The following shoots are not listed in the schedule: Sydenham Sportsmen's
Traditional Weekend May 20th and 21st.. East Grey Hunters and Anglers,
Meaford, May 7th, June 3rd and 4th, and August 13th. The shoots at Otter
Creek Mildmay are, May 7th Open and June 3rd and 4th Traditional only.
