Sydenham Sportsmen's Association: What we are!

The Sydenham Sportsmen’s Association is really two clubs in one. The original component of the SSA began in 1947 as a Conservation Club, concerned with Fish and Wildlife. The Conservation part of the club is involved in operating 2 hatcheries on the Miller property on Weaver’s creek just outside Owen Sound and the creation and maintenance of many Eastern Bluebird nesting boxes throughout Grey and Bruce counties. Over 100 members of the public are participants with maintaining and keeping records of these boxes, which you will see in your travels throughout the country. We have many other projects like tree planting, stream rehabilitation, the Owen Sound Salmon Spectacular, and more.

A second and equally important part of the SSA is our Shooting Sports programs. We are dedicated to the safe participation of our members in legal shooting sports pursuits. These include trap, skeet, sporting clays, high power rifle, cowboy action, defensive pistol, archery and more.

If you think that any or most of the above activities interest you, then you should consider joining the SSA. Applications for membership are in this website. As well, you can use our On-Line Store.

Club Meetings

The SSA has regular monthly meetings at our club house.  They are usually on the first Thursday of the month at 7:30 pm, but there are exceptions for certain game seasons.  There are no meetings in July or August.
